March 2020 Empties!
Staying faithful to my resolution of finishing the skincare products I have before I buy more, here are some of the empties I’ve finished this month!
Kiehl’s Avocado Creamy Eye Treatment: I usually will only use this eye cream at night, because it’s so rich. I will just dip the tip of my finger in the tub and gently dab around my eye area. I have pretty sensitive skin, but this eye cream has never broke me out or caused any redness/rashes. It’s said to give people a dewy (read: gooey) look, which is also another reason I will apply it only at night. By the time I wake up, my eye area is supple and hydrated. All in all, I think it’s a really effective eye cream that I will purchase again!
La Mer Moisturizing Soft Cream: Of La Mer’s entire line, I’ve found that this soft cream (and the soft lotion) are my favorite because they are not as thick and gloopy. That being said, I still only use this cream in the colder months, and usually at night. I think it has a really nice scent and the packaging is super luxe. I have read a lot of articles comparing La Mer to another cold cream, saying they are basically the same base formula but La Mer has an exponentially higher price point. I definitely have bougie taste when it comes to skincare, but I usually stay loyal to the products that have worked for me. Their moisturizers are infused with fermented sea kelp that is packed with antioxidants and micronutrients. As a result of the fermentation process, lactic acid, a natural exfoliant that refines and smoothes out your skin, is produced.
Shu Uemura Maxi:Hydrability Moisture Essence-In Gel: Whew, what a mouthful! I actually only got this because I was looking for the moisturizer that I had gotten in a sample tube. I had thought this was it, but they may have discontinued the one I was looking for. This moisturizer smells great, and melts into your skin when you apply it. Personally, it becomes a little bit too watery but it doesn’t actually hydrate too deeply. That being said, I probably will not purchase this again. However, I am a longtime lover of Shu Uemura’s cleansing oils.
Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream: This is one of the moisturizers that I have loved for a long time. The consistency is a mix between a gel and a cream - not too thick but really hydrating. This moisturizer is packed with proteins and nutrients that really help restore and replenish your skin. I have mixed and matched this with other Drunk Elephant serums before (the brand actually encourages people to do this!), but I’ve found this to be effective on its own as well. Plus: The packaging is a sanitary pump, so you don’t need to dig your hands into a jar and expose the product to light and air!
Here’s to me finishing more products and on the way to discover more!
XO.
