Winter 2020 Empties!
I am notorious for buying all the skincare products, but never finishing any. I wanted to kick that habit by trying to finish the products I have before buying similar products. Basically, this is major news**
The products I’ve miraculously finished this season are:
Sisley Lait Démaquillant à la Sauge: This is super fancy French cleansing milk. Like a lot of milks, it does not “lather,” but still does a good job of making my skin feel fresh and clean. (read: why I prefer using milks over gel/cream cleansers.) Not once after cleansing did my skin feel dry or stripped of its natural moisture, but it always felt smooth and supple. I enjoyed using this, and I particularly liked the subdued sage scent but it is pretty pricey at around $100/bottle and not always widely available/in-stock.
Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum: I first tried this when I was Drunk Elephant-crazy last year. At first, I thought it did a really good job of smoothing out my skin overnight, especially combined with the Virgin Marula Antioxidant Face Oil. Weirdly enough, I found that time and efficacy of using this product was a negative slope for me. The appearance of all DE products are minimalist, bright, and attractive; however I’ve found that a lot of product goes to waste because of not-so-smart packaging. Additionally, most DE products of smiliar size run at about $90/bottle.
Drunk Elephant Slaai™ Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser: It took me a while to finish this tub. Partially because I have too many other cleansing oils/makeup removers; but also because this was not my favorite. I absolutely hated the way this made my skin feel. The butter became extremely oily and waxy, but it wasn’t good at melting away makeup. There would be no way for me to use this without double cleansing. Safe to say, I don’t think I will be using this product again.
XO.
